Thomas Atlas (aka Tom Walker!)
From a young age his virtuoso Performances stunned audiences with his guitar playing quickly earning him respect and admiration from musicians more than 4 times his age. From 12 years old Tom was playing around the country in different line-ups along side much older musicians. This lead to Tom’s first studio sessions with legendary producer Richard Digby Smith (Island records, Average White Band, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Free, Eric Clapton and Richard was one of the first people to discover Tom’s natural soulful musical feel and recorded Tom’s early demos.
In 2011 Tom formed the Tom Walker Trio.
Seven years with the trio Tom was headlining the most prestigious venues in the UK including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 100 Club London, The Borderline London, The Birmingham Town Hall, The Birmingham Symphony hall and a residency at Jools Holland’s The Jam House. With Deano Bass from birmingham blues/funk band Brothers Groove and Jim Simpson on drums from UFO, Budgie and Bonnie Tyler in the band.
In November 2014 Tom travelled to Austin Texas to play a string of shows over in the USA. Jamming with local blues players, as well as playing to packed out venues raising his profile internationally.
Throughout the trio toured with some of the most influential acts of the past 60 years, including The Moody Blues John Lodge, Paul Jones (Manfred Man, The Blues Band, BBC Radio 2) and BBC Radio One’s first The Move. As well as American blues artists including Eric Gales and Devon Allman.
July 2016 The Stranger’s Face EP was released
Including the single Human Nature.
Quickly the EP received outstanding reviews in magazines including Blues in Britain, radio play on The Paul Jones Blues Show (BBC Radio 2), The Paul Franks Show (BBC Radio WM) as well as stations across the globe.
September 2016 Tom was interviewed on Big Centre TV’s “What’s On Show” by Des Tong from Sad Café ahead of the last night supporting John Lodge at the Birmingham Town Hall.
In April 2017 Tom released the Into Space EP with the single “Sweet Angel”, straight in the Top 20 in the IBBA Blues charts while selling thousands of copies world wide in the first few months of release.
July 2017 the Tom Walker Trio hit the road for Tom’s first headline UK tour,
“The Into Space UK Tour,” quickly selling out the Birmingham show before playing before Mungo Gerry at the legendary Ealing Blues Festival. 5th November 2017 was the trio’s final gig at The International Guitar Festival.
2018, Tom with his new four piece band with the addition of Jack Cooper on guitar completed a marathon of UK tour dates and main stage festival debut’s.
In July 2018 Tom started the ‘Garage Funk” videos with social media coverage across the world, marking the change in his style of music and direction.
Soon after Tom supported Hamish Stuart (Average White Band, Chaka Khan and Paul McCartney) and Molly Duncan (Average White Band) and British Soul Legends Kokomo.
