It is with great regret that the directors of Linton Festival CIC have decided to postpone this year’s event after consultation with all stakeholders, bands, volunteers and local community.
We have had several meetings over the last few weeks regarding the impact Covid-19 would have on the running of this year’s Festival and did not take this decision lightly.
There are many risks that we have had to consider, the most important of which is of course the risk of spreading the virus and the impact that would have.
We believe we will still have to be compliant with the Government regulations and Public Health guidelines for Covid-19 this summer. Not only might this impact on your enjoyment of the Festival (wearing masks, table service, etc.), but also on additional running costs associated with required hygiene. Furthermore, if we must adhere to social distancing rules, we would not be able to accommodate the usual number of Festival attendees.
At this point the committee cannot guarantee the restrictions will have lifted sufficiently to run Linton Festival to the standards to which we aspire, putting everyone’s health foremost.
Organising Linton Festival requires that we commit time and expenditure on booking bands and facilities way in advance. We feel that leaving a decision to the last minute to see how things go is irresponsible and may jeopardise the future of Linton Festival. We are truly sorry.
THE GOOD NEWS IS we can announce the dates for Linton Festival 2022 will be 1st to 3rd July 2022. This is when we will finally get to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and hopefully welcome you all back.
The majority of the fantastic bands and artists who were to perform both last year and this July have stated that they intend to be with us next year. We anticipate all the line up will be as previously advertised and we are working hard to confirm this.
The ticket rollover process will be confirmed in due course and we will be in touch with you regarding the options. If you have queries or questions about our processes and decisions, please get in touch via our contact page <click here >
Thank you for your understanding. We wish you and your families a safe and healthy time ahead and look forward to seeing you next year.
Best wishes from everyone on the Linton Festival Committee.
