After much consideration, regretfully we feel that, in light of the developing Coronavirus pandemic, we have no option but to postpone the 20th Linton Festival that was scheduled for 3rd-5th July 2020.
All those who have booked tickets, including camping tickets, will have their tickets rolled over to next year. The ticket roll-over process will be confirmed in due course and we’ll be in touch with you shortly.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce the 20th Linton Festival will now be on 2nd – 4th July 2021.
We will do all we can to secure the same fantastic artist and bands we were looking forward to seeing in July.
If any of this years planned for bands are unable to be at the festival next year, we will endeavour to replace them with someone equal to or even better. We are also in touch with all of the other contractors.
This has not been an easy decision to make, but as the Covid-19 situation has progressed over the past couple of weeks, and in line with government guidelines, we have two very clear reasons:

1) It is our duty to festival-goers and to the people of Linton and surrounding villages to act responsibly and in line with government advice and regulations with regard to public health. The recent advice on social distancing and the cancellation of many other public events means we have no option but to comply with advice. Of course, there is a chance the restrictions may have been relaxed by July, but it’s too risky to make this assumption. Organising an event of this size takes a lot of work. It would be too last minute and could jeopardise the quality we deliver for our festival-goers.

2) Putting on the festival involves spending a considerable amount of money upfront to secure bands/artists and various contractors. We need to manage the finances very carefully and if we fail to cover our outgoings it could place the entire future of the festival at risk. With festival proceeds going to charity, this is not something we want to do. With so much uncertainty around how long the Coronavirus situation will last, we don’t believe there will be much public confidence in crowded events such as the festival so soon as July. We are sure you’ll understand why we have made this decision and we hope you appreciate it’s solely in the interests of protecting yourselves, bands, festival staff and the long-term future of the festival.

Now, we look forward to planning Linton Festival 2021. This is when we will finally celebrate our 20th Anniversary and let us tell you now, we promise to make it the very best festival ever!
